LA - > NY in 64 Days. Meet Mr. William Goodge.
English endurance athlete and friend of The Audacious Report William Goodge is gearing up to tackle his biggest challenge yet - a run across America - while raising upwards of $500,000 for cancer research and support. Starting on April 2, 2023, in Huntington Beach, CA, Goodge will set off on a journey that will see him become the fastest Englishman to run across America when he finishes in New York City on June 4. He will run a staggering 50 miles per day for 64 days.
Goodge's previous accomplishments include running 48 marathons in 30 days, completing the Marathon des Sables (called the hardest footrace in the world), and running the length of the UK. However, if you add all of those up, they don't even come close to the 3,175-mile Transcontinental run.
The journey will be captured through a high-octane weekly YouTube series, hosted on the Audacious Report's YouTube channel. Episodes will be released every Sunday starting on April 2 (subscribe here). Each episode will explore the daily challenges William faces as well as tell the story of his crew members, Robbie Balenger and Peter John.
The historic run is raising upwards of $500,000 for cancer research and support in celebration of William's mother Mandy. The loss of Mandy five years ago sparked the beginning of William's running career, when he used the physical pain of endurance to work through grief. This time, it's about celebrating her spirit to raise a F@%K ton of money for charity and smash this run.
The Transcon will take William and his crew through some of the most beautiful and challenging terrain in the country, from the mountains and deserts of the West to the rolling hills and forests of the East. He will travel through the often forgotten-about heart of America, on small roads, 50 miles at a time.
One thing is for sure, in order to accomplish this record-breaking run, William will have to dig. Real deep.
Stay tuned for the debut episode on The Audacious Report's Youtube Channel premiering April 2.
